Janeil “Janjan” Day is a self taught artist since the COVID-19 shut down, but has always been a creative individual since childhood. Using fundamental skills taught from their art teachers, Janjan used sketching in order to cope with the uncertainty of COVID, later on she taught herself how to paint with small canvases during her free time while working a full time job. What ultimately led their decision to pursue their art career is when they met their fiancé: Kory Day in 2023. Since 2019, Janjan’s creative process became a therapeutic method to help navigate her PTSD, but over time it developed as a way to connect to her psyche and express parts of herself beyond words. Elements of their art include cultural cues of their life in Hawai’i and their ethnic background as a first generation Filipino-American. She also includes expressive figures to add context of a story behind her paintings. Often, their stories include illustrations of divine feminine beings and their connection to nature combined with her abstract patterns of flow. Janjan’s art is a powerful dance of symbolism and whimsy that tells a story in her unique perspective and her colorful outlook of life

Janjan is also a muralist, who recently finished the “Out of the Box” traffic signal public art project in Carson City, NV. Janjan also paints at live events and festivals. They have painted in the past at StillDream Festival in Wilseyville, CA (2024), and in Belden, CA (2025) and Cascade Equinox Festival (2025) and live art events hosted at Makers Paradise in Reno, NV.

She has been featured in several galleries at Makers Paradise, and featured in a few galleries hosted by Sierra Arts Foundation.
